Ingredients
- 1/2 cup
115g unsalted butter
- 1 cup
170g semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup
150g granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup
40g unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chocolate together, stirring until smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift in the cocoa powder and stir until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes.
Let the cake cool completely before removing from the pan.
Dust with powdered sugar or top with whipped cream before serving.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, use dark chocolate chips.
- Pairs perfectly with fresh berries or vanilla ice cream.
